Different varieties of triple strand pearl jewelry are generally available for people to buy. These pieces of jewelry are extremely popular because they are different from the general pearl jewelry. The three strands of pearls add volume and character to the jewelry and it looks grander than a normal single strand piece would look. The triple strand varieties are seen in necklaces and bracelets. These jewelry pieces could be combined with other materials such as gold, diamonds, gemstones or even black pearls.

Triple strand pearl jewelry comes under the category of highly preferred because this kind of jewelry is good enough to wear without any other jewelry, for instance a triple strand necklace could be worn with a dress without the need to wear a bracelet or earrings with it. Wearing only the necklace would also suffice due to its heaviness. Another reason for its popularity is that if a set of triple strand pearls is worn together it would look ideal for an important function that requires a lot of dressing up. As compared to other heavy necklaces, a pearl necklace with triple strands would be light to wear and the wearer would feel comfortable in it. Useful-Tips-On-How-To-Make-Pearl-Necklace-1

-  First decide the length of the necklace.  Now take a silk cord and measure using a measuring tape and multiply this by four.  The extra length is for tying the knots.  If the necklace is of adequate length, then it could easily fit over your head.   If it is shorter you will need to attach a clasp.

-  First make a couple of knot on one end and thread a needle on the other.  Now thread two pearls and slide it across the thread to the end with the knots.  Now make a loop but don’t complete the knot.  Now put the tweezers through the loop while gripping the cord next to the first pearl.  Now pull the cord at the other end and let the loop slide down right next to the first pearl.  Now slide the next pearl and do the loop and tighten the knot again.   Continue the process until you have finished with all the pearls.

-   After you reach the desired length, make pearl necklace by tying both ends together making a double or triple knot.  If the necklace is short then you will have to attach the clasp at the ends of the necklace.

Extravagant Black Pearl Designs

black-pearl-designsIf you’re looking to know more about black pearl designs, we can help. What is a black pearl?  A black pearl is like any other pearl in basic make-up and quality, however, a black pearl is the most rare color to come out of an oyster. In reality, almost all colors of pearls are available and popular with some. The black pearl is the hardest to come by in its natural state. Methods for coloring pearls to suit the buyer and seller exist, but the natural black pearl is the least common of all. This inspires inquiry into black pearl designs.

Probably the most common usage of a black pearl is the ring. Rings with a pearl as a primary stone or ’solitaire’ are quite common and can be a beautiful and a less costly replacement for diamonds or other precious gemstones. So, if you’re seeking out black pearl designs, there are many lovely rings available. There are some Tahitian Black Pearl rings available and they are usually set in white gold or silver. Today, most modern designs take into account the specific color of the pearl itself. This allows the creative artist to combine just the right setting with the pearl to make a lovely combination.

In addition to a spread of rings and brooches, black pearl designs also include many pendants from which to choose. Some of the styles that can be found include a single black pearl in a white gold or silver setting much like a ring. Many shoppers prefer a simple setting and the elegance it brings. But that’s not all you’ll find. There are also many beautiful pendants which are more elaborate and have many pearls or display a pearl design along with a pave of diamonds or CZ. These can also be quite lovely and should be worn with the proper gown to accentuate their beauty.

Why do so many people prefer black pearl designs over other pearl designs? Some find that the color is the most beautiful aspect of the pearl. All pearls are made of the same substance, except for simulated pearls. So, the color, radiance, shimmer and glow of a pearl can come into play to make it more appealing to the eye. Personal preference, occasion and outfit also play an important role. Pearls are also often worn by mature women in the form of a necklace or string of pearls. But this is not always the case. A younger lady can also benefit from the stately beauty of pearls by wearing fashionable designs that give her an aura of class no other jewelry can give.

Pearls

Pearls

Pearls are so often admired in necklaces worn by royalty. Special pearls can reach incredible prices and other types of pearls can be had for a bargain. The most valuable pearls occur spontaneously in the wild, but they are extremely rare. Cultured or farmed pearls from pearl oysters  make up the majority of those that are currently sold. Pearls from the sea are valued more highly than freshwater pearls. Imitation or fake pearls are also widely sold in inexpensive jewelry, but the quality of their iridescence is usually very poor, and generally speaking, artificial pearls are easily distinguished from genuine pearls. Pearls have been harvested and cultivated primarily for use in jewelry. Pearls have also been crushed and used in cosmetics, medicines, and in paint formulations.

Almost any shelled mollusk can, by natural processes, produce some kind of ‘pearl’ when an irritating microscopic object becomes trapped within the mollusk’s mantle folds, but the great majority of these ‘pearls’ are not valued as gemstones. Nacreous pearls, the best-known and most commercially-significant pearls, are primarily produced by two groups of molluscan bivalves or clams. A nacreous pearl is made from layers of nacre, by the same living process as is used in the secretion of the mother of pearl which lines the shell.

A ‘natural pearl’ or ‘wild pearl’ is one that forms without any human intervention at all, in the wild, and is very rare. Many hundreds of pearl oysters or pearl mussels have to be gathered and opened, and thus killed, in order to find even one wild pearl, and for many centuries that was the only way pearls were obtained. This was the main reason why pearls fetched such extraordinary prices in the past. A cultured pearl is formed in a pearl farm, using human intervention as well as natural processes. The valuation factors include size, shape, quality of surface, orient and luster.

Single natural pearls are often sold as a collector’s item, or set as centerpieces in unique jewelry. Very few matched strands of natural pearls exist, and those that do often sell for hundreds of thousands of dollars. Luster is the most important factor in pearl quality according to jewelers. All things being equal, however, the larger the pearl the more valuable it is. Large, perfectly round pearls are rare and highly valued. Teardrop-shaped pearls are often used in pendants.

Pearls come in eight basic shapes: round, semi-round, button, drop, pear, oval, baroque, and circled. Perfectly round pearls are the rarest and most valuable shape. Semi-rounds are also used in necklaces or in pieces where the shape of the pearl can be disguised to look like it is a perfectly round pearl. Button pearls are like a slightly flattened round pearl and can also make a necklace, but are more often used in single pendants or earrings where the back half of the pearl is covered, making it look like a larger, rounder pearl. Baroque pearls have a different appeal; they are often highly irregular with unique and interesting shapes. They are also commonly seen in necklaces. Circled pearls are characterized by concentric ridges, or rings, around the body of the pearl.

In general, cultured pearls are less valuable than natural pearls, whereas imitation pearls can be quite inexpensive. One way that jewelers can determine whether a pearl is cultured or natural is to have a gem lab perform an x-ray of the pearl. As with all jewelry, though, the beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
